Mark Shenouda, P.E. – Founder and CEO

Mark Shenouda, P.E., graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He brings over 25 years of diverse engineering experience, with a strong focus on the design of plumbing and fire sprinkler systems—primarily for high-rise buildings in New York City—in full compliance with local codes and standards.

Out of his 25 years of engineering experience, 18 years were spent in government service, holding key roles in the following agencies:

  • NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP):

    • Responsible for design review and construction inspection of water mains, site sewer connections (SD1 & SD2), roof detention and retention systems, and enforcement of the backflow prevention program.

    • Oversaw projects involving the connection of New York State upstate communities to the NYC water supply system.

    • Conducted reviews of water treatment plant designs and led construction inspections to ensure compliance with DEP and state standards.

  • NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC):
    Gained valuable experience in building system retrofits, including HVAC control upgrades with setbacks, booster pump replacements, and high-efficiency motor installations.

  • MTA – New York City Transit:

    • Served in engineering and project management roles overseeing the procurement and delivery of new train cars.

    • Managed both operating and capital construction contracts, with project portfolios totaling up to $160 million.

    • Led the design and evaluation of HVAC systems for various MTA-owned properties, ensuring operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

      Hobbies

    • I am a dedicated martial artist and hold a black belt in Taijutsu, a discipline that emphasizes fluid motion, self-discipline, and practical self-defense techniques. My training has instilled in me a strong sense of focus, resilience, and respect—qualities I apply both in and out of the dojo.
